Our Senior Partner, Julius Kemboy, founded Kemboy law Advocates in the year 2006. At the outset, Mr. Kemboy was particular on commencing a Firm that would guarantee him a fresh start and self-independence. However, he nurtured the Firm into an organization that embodies justice, equal opportunities for all, the guarantee of a proper training for young advocates and an indiscriminate fortress of legal aid for all those who may be in need for it.
Mr. Kemboy’s deep grasp of multiple areas of law has allowed him to develop a wide practice that has seen him represent clients at the International Criminal Court (ICC), the East Africa Court of Justice and the Supreme Court of Kenya among others. He has participated in a number of international arbitrations and negotiated huge contracts for foreign governments, various conglomerates in Africa and India and a number of multinational companies. Our Senior Partner has also had the privilege of representing a Chief Justice of the Republic of Kenya. He also holds a Masters Degree in Oil & Gas/Renewable Energy and consults for the government and prospecting companies.
In a world where most leaders lack in character and integrity, we at Kemboy Law Advocates are fortunate to have a leader and mentor who is the personification of these virtues. No one understands the concept of service above self, more than our Senior Partner. He is possibly one of the few people who do random acts of kindness to complete strangers with the knowledge that he will never be recognized. He pushes himself beyond the typical boundaries to ensure that all of our client’s interests are well protected and all their needs are met. These are some of the attributes that have engendered the trust, confidence and loyalty of the entire Kemboy Law Advocates team in our Senior Partner.
Despite Mr. Kemboy being one of the most intelligent, educated and experienced advocates of the High Court of Kenya, he has an insatiable hunger for knowledge and an unyielding desire to learn from others. But he is not one to keep this knowledge and experience to himself.
Those who have had the privilege of being his pupils or mentees will tell you that his willingness to share his skills, knowledge and expertise is unparalleled. They will also tell you that his persistent guidance and unwavering belief in their potential despite their shortcomings is the extra nudge that inspires them to discover their hidden strengths and move beyond their limitations.
Asked to describe his journey to success, Mr. Kemboy’s response is often a simple one; “success is the result of perfection, hard work, discipline and consistency. These are the things I have had to keep alive both in times of hardship and triumph.” He is thereafter likely to refer to a Nelson Mandela quote which is the first thing you will see as soon as you walk into his office, that; “there is no easy walk to freedom anywhere, and many of us will have to pass through the valley of the shadow of death again and again before we reach the mountain top of our desires.” Indeed, a befitting response from a man who came to Nairobi some twenty years ago with nothing but hope and determination.
